jennifer and anthony decided to have their portraits before the ceremony (during the reception she grabbed and told me she was now the biggest advocate for the first look and pre-wedding portraits) so we met at musterfield farms near sutton new hampshire. what a gorgeous location for photos! the light was perfect as we explored the orchards, heritage homes and farms. the bridal party met us at the farms for a very relaxing, very fun portrait session. i absolutely loved that jenn let her bridesmaids choose their own navy blue dresses. we were all amazed by how well they went together. the men looked quite dapper themselves and i was totally in love with the green apple orchard complimenting the ladies blue dresses and men’s black tuxes.

after a little over an hour here we left for the drive down to manchester. jenn and anthony’s ceremony was held at the very regal stark park. a white gazebo formed a perfect frame for the nuptials and become the seat of choice for the adorable flower girl, jenn’s niece. the short but sweet (i cried) ceremony was finished with jenn and anthony walking back down the aisle, sun on their backs, kissing. seriously. cherry on top.

the park was a perfect location for family portraits then it was off to fratello’s of manchester for the reception. jenn and anthony are so adorable. they didn’t like being in the spot light so completely left out any “tradition” that might draw too much attention to themselves. they didn’t announce themselves as they entered the venue. they didn’t announce themselves as they cut the cake for a few photos. they didn’t have a first dance. the one speech that was given was beautiful. the best man noah shared his story of love for the couple which brought most of us to tears and laughter, simultaneously. i love when couple’s make their evening, their own. it was simple, elegant, and relational. we talked, laughed, and cried together. it was a beautiful evening.

today is jenn and anthony’s wedding. seriously. so excited! i have to go get ready now, just wanted to share with you this relaxing image of new hampshire… well of my view from my bed :)

monday evening… erh… early, early tuesday morning we will be back in vancity. i’m looking forward to getting back to my wonderful “city pollution.”

gabrielle and adam’s wedding did not disappoint. the ceremony was held at the cleveland dam in north vancouver. it was a perfect day for a wedding. slightly overcast with the sun peaking out on occasion to say hello. gabrielle and adam’s baby girl walked up the aisle with a massive smile on her face, wearing an adorable red tutu. gabrielle glowed as she walked toward her love dressed in his serge. they laughed and cried and the tenderness that adam showed toward both gabrielle and their girl, dempsey, throughout the day brought both my assistant, tegan, and i to tears!

the cleveland dam was not only a gorgeous location for a ceremony but it was prefect for portraits as well. we spent a bit of time walking around getting some great shots until it was time for gabrielle and adam to mount (no pun intended… okay maybe a little bit…) their bikes for the quick ride to the reception location.

catered by the ever fabulous culinary capers, the reception was enjoyable from start to finish. the newlyweds pulled up to gabrielle’s family home on their bicycles to the crowd cheering them on. beer from the red racer brewery was on hand and the food that followed was excellent. i am always impressed with culinary capers. seriously… i get so excited when i hear that a client has chosen them to cater their wedding… ask tegan :) so the beautiful day turned to dusk and the speeches filled the tent with laughter and applause. dancing followed and gabrielle chose to have her first dance with her father who then passed his daughter off to his new son-in-law. it was beautiful.

thank you gabrielle for choosing me as your photographer. thank you adam for allowing me to photograph you ;) tegan and i immensely enjoyed being a part of your day.

adamo and edina were glowing all day long. we had plenty of time in the afternoon for portraits so we headed to rocky point with the bridal party and finished up at the italian cultural center for some more intimate photos of the bride and groom.

the italian cultural center reception was just as wonderful and family filled as the ceremony. both sets of parents showered love and praise over not just their own child but their new child-in-law as well. the food was delicious, the wine was in abundance and the party was jumping!

ps. don’t you love the progression of photobooth pictures?? as the night wears on… so does the photobooth.

here’s how it works. you contact me and we book a session for you on the allotted date and location which i have chosen. you send in a small retainer to secure the date. on the day of the event you get your family, partner or dog all spiffy-ed up and ready for portraits. i pitch a little white tent over a picnic table in the park. you show up to the location 10 minutes before your scheduled time with the remaining balance of your session. you enjoy hot chocolate under the little white tent in the park. i take photos of you and yours for 20 or 40 minutes. you leave very happy with wind kissed cheeks. 4 weeks later you get to view all of your images on an online gallery. if you chose the 20 minute session, you get to choose 10 images to keep! if you chose the 40 minute session you get to choose images for your soft cover coffee table style photo album! (i have examples of these if you’d like to view it) then you get all of the images and your beautifully designed album. you can use the images that you are given on disk to print as you wish!

anyway. again. enough words. here are some photos that i took of tegan in yaletown. we were out taking photos of each other for various promo material. good times :) oh, and you can see the shots she took of me here.

veil tv is like the show, but online! marliss productions has been interviewing a number of vancouver vendors and in october the website will be launched, displaying beautiful hd video interviews! now we are no longer just words and still pictures on a stale website… you get to see us in action, talking about our passion for our industry.

when kathy told me about veil tv it was a no brainer for me. i am so thrilled to be a part of it. then when my turn came to be interviewed…. i was a little less than thrilled to be  on the other side of the camera… talking! but i made it through that half of the video and a couple weeks later we met up in steveston for the “in action” part. i had the privilege of photographing a lovely couple. that’s all i had to do! kathy and steph filmed me as i did what i do… i was in my element! the light was superb! the couple – gorgeous! and of course, the location was perfect.

so this past weekend, i took completely off. and i enjoyed it. ty and i took rome blueberry picking. i thought maybe it might interest her in eating the delicious fruit. but no. she tried one. and spat it out as per usual… she doesn’t eat any undisguised (i have become very clever and hiding them) fruits or veggies. she get’s that from his side. seriously. :)

on august 20th, 5 became the number of years that tyler and i have been married. thank you tyler, for 5 years. for 5 wonderful years. for 5 difficult years. for 5 filled years. filled with love, lots of love, tears, laughter, conversation, better conversation, fights, travels, gifts, smells, sounds, sights and overwhelming emotions.

i love you. i love life with you. here’s to the next 5.
